Ms. Biron is the founder of Equinox, founded in 1996. She has extensive experience in commercial strategies and intellectual property, including managing IP portfolios, direct marketing, product commercialization and building successful partnerships between independent inventors, larger scale developers, distributors and investors.
Ms. Biron has developed unique IP management software and provides her clients with a personalized approach in managing their IP assets. Ms. Biron assists clients in the purchase and sale of IP assets and works closely with attorneys in initiating and negotiating IP licensing agreements. Moreover, she has developed innovative software to provide greater accessibility to IP vendors and purchasers. Ms. Biron merges her business experience and knowledge of patent and trademark agents.

Dr. Philip Swain has been practicing in the field of Intellectual Property since 2000. Dr. Swain is a Synthetic Organic Chemist, a registered patent agent in Canada and the United States and also a registered United States trademark agent.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Dr. Swain assists clients in obtaining patent protection in the Life Sciences field and other various fields including mechanical and electrical inventions. BACKGROUND
Dr. Swain was previously a patent agent with two Canadian National Law firms as well as a German Pharmaceutical company. He was the Director of IP at a clinical stage biotechnology company in Montreal. In his previous career as a medicinal chemist, Dr. Swain worked for a Boston-based biotechnology company where he invented a drug abuse vaccine for which he is named as an inventor on several patents. Mr. Swain also an entrepreneur, an investor and a venture partner. In addition to his IP work, Dr. Swain co-founded a solar panel cleaning company and a fuel spill detection company.

As a patent and trademark assistant, Ms. Véronique Boucher offers quality service to clients in the process of obtaining a trademark and a patent from the Canadian and Intellectual Property Office of Canada and the United States. Recognized for her analytical skills, she has also been a consultant in the Management Consulting Group of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. Ms. Boucher's university education and the various mandates she has carried out in the corporate world play a key role in Equinox's day-to-day operations.
